Townsville 400 a Roaring Success!

July 17th, 2009

The V8 Supercars recently made their way to Townsville on 10 to 13 July. The inaugural race was a huge success with more than 160,000 people passing through the gates over the 3 day event. If you're thinking of attending in 2010 be sure to book your accommodation early, as anything considered a little more "luxurious" will go quickly!

If you miss the Townsville V8's you may still have time to catch the annual Australian Festival of Chamber Music held a little later in the month. Entering its 19th year, the Australian Festival of Chamber Music (AFCM) is an international chamber music Festival held over nine days each July. Each year, the AFCM attracts between 25 and 30 chamber musicians from around the world, appearing in over 25 concerts performing 80 compositions along with 20 emerging artists. It is Australia's largest festival dedicated to chamber music.
