Whales Right on Time
July 17th, 2009Workers recently had a great "late for work" story for the boss when a pod of whales were spotted just off the deck of the Magnetic Island ferry. The timetable was thrown aside as the ferry ground to a halt to allow passengers to take in the wonderful sight. About 12,000 whales are typically on the move up the Queensland coast past Townsville as they make their annual migration from the Antarctic to the warmer waters of the Great Barrier Reef to breed.
